Harlem- What we do in our community

When we think about what is special about Harlem we think about the hospital that's named after our community, Harlem Hospital. Alot of us were born in this hospital.
We have beautiful gardens. We grow flowers, plants and fruit in our garden. We have our own school garden here.
We have lots of schools. We have fancy restaurants here. One is called Manna's. Manna's serves sould food.
In Harlem we have a lot of diversity. We have African, South American, Central American, Carribean, Asian and lots of other cultures.
If you come to Harlem, the best place to shop is 125th street.

When we're in Harlem, we like to play sports, go to the YMCA. We go to chucky cheese. We go to the Apollo. We go to GameStop for more games. We also go to the parks. St. Nicholas, Mount Morris Park and Morningside park are a few of our parks.

If we could think of things to make our community better we would
-recycle
- we would pick up trash
-we would plant more trees
-we would make more schools for kids
-we would create more jobs for grownups
-we would respect each other
-we would never argue with each other about each other's skin color
-we would not make fun of each other.

Hello,
We are PS175 students. This is class 4-109. We are fourth graders. We are learning about China and Shanghai. We're also learning about the Algonquians and the Haudenosaunee. We're learning about what they ate. They ate corn, squash and beans. We're also learning about where they lived. They lived in long houses and wigwams. In science we are learning about food chains and webs.

We are also learning about people's countries in Reach The World. The traveler that we're following is named Anthony and Anthony is in Shanghai, China. We're learning about what they do and what they eat. We're learning that there are foods that they eat that we don't eat. Anthony has been trying snake. He rode a motorcycle. He also went Zhujaijao.

We want Anthony to read this blog. We would also like people in other countries to read it also. We would also like our traveler from last year to read it, Danielle.

Thanks for reading,
PS175 4-109 fourth graders
